Repadmin is a command-line utility used to diagnose and manage Active Directory replication. It allows administrators to view topology, monitor health, force synchronization, and troubleshoot complex directory issues.
It is installed with:
- Active Directory Domain Services (DC role)
- RSAT tools
Run from an elevated command prompt.
repadmin /?
Displays the master command list and syntax help.

🔟 Rare / Specialist Commands
These appear mostly in deep support cases:
/experthelp
/regkey
/prp
/rehost
/replsingleobj
/viewlist
/wait
These are rarely used in day-to-day enterprise operations and usually require Microsoft support guidance.
Recommended Troubleshooting Workflow
If replication is broken — don’t randomly run commands. A sensible sequence:
1️⃣ Health Check
/replsummary
2️⃣ Identify DC Issues
/showrepl *
3️⃣ Investigate Target
/showrepl <DC>
/queue <DC>
4️⃣ Fix Topology
/kcc
5️⃣ Force Sync
/syncall
6️⃣ Deep Investigation
/showobjmeta
/showutdvec
/removelingeringobjects
